Making
your record sound consistently good on multiple playback systems is the
ultimate challenge of audio mastering.
There
are an untold number of stories where bands come out of expensive studios,
where the production quality sounded excellent, only to find that it fell
completely apart when played at home, in the car, in a club, or another
studio environment.
During the last stage of our mastering, we check and double check your
tracks, one by one, on several different setups to make sure that the
frequency response is full,
yet tight and in
control.
When
a master holds up in a variety of playback environments, it is said to
"transfer" well. In short, a great sounding record is one that
sounds great anywhere.
